The
View from an Alien Spacecraft
March 26, 2016
“I
can see,” chortles the Little Grey Alien, “that you are very
proud of the new adventure on which you see your Planetary Mind
beginning to embark.
“But
before you advance too far into your Brave New World, I would have
you reflect on the meaning of one of your most ancient Wisdom Tales.
“Your
wise and your not-so-wise people have used up an ocean of ink in
trying to determine just where this Garden of Eden might be found.
The true place and the actual date depend on which Eden you are
speaking of, since Eden is a cyclic recurrence which has happened on
different levels in various ways. But if we rise up from your
geocentric space-time to a more universal perspective, I believe it
would become a little easier for you to accept, that the Garden of
Eden presents us with an archetypal map of your own human brain.
“The
brain is formed of little trees called dendrites, and all of them are
suitable for you to program except for one, which is called the Tree
of Life31.
It has been called this because it is dedicated to regulating
essential life functions, including mechanisms to ensure the
propagation of the species. Of course it does not surprise us that,
when you began to tried to experiment with this tree so you could
gain power over it, a Serpent crawled up the trunk, and proceeded to
tempt you into a path of deadly experimentation.
“The
Serpent represents the longing for the easier life you could have if
you could just shut down your spiritual receptors and mamalian
sympathies. If it were only possible for the human to be satisfied
with a reptilian life style, you would not be tormented by worry
concerning the human condition. The rewards of the Conquering Empire
would be sufficient; one would no longer feel disturbed by the misery
of the dispossessed and starving masses.

There is a tradition that the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge
share a common trunk. The allegory leads us to believe the Tree of
Knowledge begins to diverge from the Tree of Life the moment we
discover Death.
After
the Great Reversal
“Of
course, the Starlords can appreciate those intellectuals like Philip
LeFey, Mathieu Singly or Tariko Zamorra who argue for the
preponderance of life – but how many of the earthlings down there
have ever heard of them?
A Reversal of great magnitude has recently occurred on earth, greater
than the one that prompted the crier in the time of Claudius to
proclaim ‘The Great God Pan is dead!’ For the most part the
leaders of your Estates, and particularly those who control the
Fourth Estate, are determined to keep the people from recognizing
that this Great Reversal has occurred.
(Thieu
and I find that we have been returned to the studio in which she has
been painting. Apparently we have been teleported down, after being
inducted into the Alien spacecraft as guests.
(All
that is left from our Alien encounter is a rather loquatious robot,
who seems to be explaining our own nervous systems as he paces is
oddly sunchronized circles on the floor.)
The Robot
Good
day sir, I am a robot. I have been programmed by the space-aliens to
communicate in your language, so that I may impart their theory about
the Tree of Life to you, and elicit enough feedback from you to
ensure that you have the ability to visualize the metaphors I offer
for you to construct a model from.
To
begin with we shall have a tree, which we shall call the Tree of
Life. Surrounding this tree we have the Garden of Eden, which
includes all of the dendrites which have not been locked into the
system which has been devoted to self-preservation and species
preservation.
Now
I want you to visualize a serpent climbing up the Tree of Life. The
human brain knows that even when the garden dies life pulses shall
still be sustained in the eternal world that spiritual intuition
connects with. But the snake does not know this; it fears that it
shall die unless it can replicate itself by whipping the young until
they have come to share the condition of reptile perversity.
This,
in short, is the meaning of the story of the fall of Adam from grace.
Maybe it was your father who whipped you, maybe it was your
grandmother but in any case, we have observed that almost all humans
exibit a neurotic fear of exploring the higher branches of the
Dendrites of Eden, because they have been hypnotized into imagining
that the only way in which they shall survive is by acting like
snakes. It is alas so, that the Rod of the Fathers only perpetrates
the prejudices of the Fathers, and fails to awaken the higher
capacity of ethical knowledge through empathy.
I,
as a robot, have been delegated to impart this story to you, because
until you get over allowing your moral feelings to be controlled by
the snake who wanted to attain immortality by possessing you, you
shall not be able to benefit from more direct communication with
those who are Lords of The Stars.
